Duplicate emails

I have Windows Vista and I started getting duplicate emails today. The same
3-4 messages. I've checked tools to see if I have duplicate accounts and I
don't. What else could be causing this?

If it keeps stopping on message number 4, then that message may be corrupted
on the server.
Log onto the web portal to your account, and delete the 4 oldest messages.

I am having the same issue. On Friday Email was recieving 1 copy at a time.
Saturday and today, I am getting 10-15 copies of the same Emaail. I called
Verizon, and checked my Emails from their website and only get 1 copy of each
Email. Verizon said it was a Windows Mail issue. Itoo do not see any
duplicate accounts. Thanks for the feedback! JD

I also am having that problem. Don't know what to do. If you find out
anything please post it.

It seems the problem is when the Verizon e-mail transfers over to Windows
mail it is not getting deleted from Verizon e-mail. So it keeps sending it.
I don't know what to do about it. If anyone does please let us know.

I'm also having the same problems. Even when I delete the emails from the
Verizon inbox, I'm still getting them. If anyone figures out a solution, I'd
love to hear it.

I also have Verizon. I don't have the problem with email but the Verizon
customer support people can be highly irritating jerks that will blame Vista
for anything they can't blame anyone else for.

Have you checked the Verizon forums? As a Verizon customer, you should
always check the Verizon forums for problems that could be their problem
before checking here; see:

http://forums.verizon.com

For example, look at "email trouble - can't delete messages and won't go
away after download" at:

http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-I...e-messages-and-won-t-go-away-after/td-p/93735

That thread is interesting in many ways. Note one person said that
"Microsoft recently sent out an update that incorrectly set the system
date/time to 2008"; I don't know if a Verizon customer support person said
that but it is the type of thing they have told me in the past.

JD, you don't have the same issue as "whole1" unless you keep downloading
the same messages each time the mail is checked. The fix for that problem
is to log in via webmail (using your browser), sort the messages there by date,
delete all the older ones you already have downloaded, plus one more.
Then try Windows Mail again.

It is likely coincidence. It is very possible that Verizon fixed the problem
and coincidentally the problem went away when you ran the repair. Also, the
problem was not affecting everyone, so the fact that it stopped occurring is
not proof that the repair utility fixed it.

I tried the fix you said. It keeps loading in my windows media center.
There is no way I can change that. Than I can't find it.

Don't knock it if it worked for her. It could have fixed issues with the
POP3 numbering enabling it to function properly again.

Except we don't know that it worked. Also, I did not suggest undoing it. I
even did not suggest that no one try it. My intent was not to knock the
solution; my intent is to knock Verizon, which many people do in the Verizon
forums.

i dont know bob , i did it and it worked for me , i ve been recieving normal
mail , maybe your problem is not the same as mine , have u tried calling your
internet provider, id say contact microsoft but we all know they want to
charge u , do you have the service pack 1 ? or 2 ?

How do you know it worked for you? The fact that the problem went away for
you is not proof that you did anything to fix the problem. Perhaps it did
work for you, but Bob says it did not work for Bob. So a logical explanation
is that Verizon fixed the problem, since so many people had the problem.
