Dual-NIC, ICS, and LAN

Perhaps I just can't find the right search terms, but I can't find anything
to help here even though it seems like it should be a very common question:

I have a broadband modem (Satellite, in my case) that connects to one PC on
my home network. This PC has ICS enabled which provides Internet access to
all of the other PCs. That works fine.

The problem is, since the satellite was installed a couple weeks ago, and I
installed the second NIC to allow for the ICS, now the computer that runs ICS
cannot see my internal (home) network. I can ping IP addresses on my home
network but my Network Places and mapped drives cannot find anything on the
home network. Also, name resolution on the home network is not working. I
can ping by IP address but not by machine name.

The other PCs on the home network can all see each other just fine and can
access the Internet through the ICS machine. Only the ICS machine does not
work on my home network.

An interesting twist is that Media Player on the ICS machine can rip CDs and
save the files to the shared music library on another machine on the network
but that appears to be the only access that works.

I have added a route to the internal network using ROUTE ADD. I am
considering adding the machine names for all the other PCs to the HOSTS file
but that means DHCP can no longer be used.

Any other suggetions? Or even preferrably, articles that describe how to
use a computer for both ICS and for accessing the internal network using
dual-nics?

Thanks In Advance

What new route did you add? No new routes should be needed on a
single-subnet LAN. A Hosts file shouldn't be needed, either.

Make sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is set to Enable, not to Default,
on the LAN connection.

What happens if you try to access another computer directly, via the
Start | Run box, by IP address and by name. For example:

\\192.168.0.2
\\computer

What is the result "net view" in a command prompt window?
