dual monitor presentation

I'm very new to powerpoint. When I am presenting a slide show onto a screen
from the lap top (using presenter view), on two occasions the pointer arrow
has gone onto the main screen instead of the lap top screen, and I can't
seem to get it back to the lap top. I end up turning the lap top off and
switching it back on again. What am I doing wrong? Your help would be
greatly appreciated.

Which video card is present in your laptop? Try updating the video card
drivers from the video card manufacturer's website. The ones that get
installed automatically are usually old.
