drives not functioning

I am having problems with my CD/CDRW drive, CD drive, A-
drive. All my drives have stopped working. When a disk
is inserted into my "A" drive it states "disk is not
formatted do you wish to format now?" The disk that I
have inserted already is formatted and is my working
disk. It works on my other computers with no problem.
This is with every disk I insert into this drive. My CD
drive will not show that it even has a disk inserted into
it. It continually tries to read the disk. My CD/CDRW
drive shows the disk inserted but that it has nothing on
the disk. It will recognize any CD if I restart the
computer with the CD in the drive. Once I take out the
CD and re-insert it will not recognize it again.

For Pro - Go to Start/Run and type in: services.msc

Scroll down to Shell Hardware Detection and set it to Automatic and Started.
