Driver for Thumb Drive for Windows XP

I purchased a Memorex Thumbdrive which works beautifully
on my laptop....but my desktop computer keeps displaying
the message unknown device no drivers found.

I am running Windows XP professional on both computers.
The Thumbdrive came with a disc for windows 98 program
with the drivers to install but it will not let me
install from the disc because I keep getting the message
that Windows XP already has drivers and then it goes into
an endless loop of asking questions for trouble shooting
for which I have done.

Is there a downloadable devise driver available?

Is the device USB 2.0? XP requires the SP1 update to have USB 2.0 drivers.
