Drive Letter for Kodak Camera

Kodak EasyShare Camera Connection Software 5.x and lower is supposed to make
the camera show as a drive letter under Hard Disk Drives. It works this way
just fine on my laptop but not on my desktop. The camera does appear as
drive H: under hard drives but clicking on it produces the error message "H:\
not accessible. Incorrect function." I'm running XP Home SP2. I would
appreciate some help on this. I like to see the camera as an ordinary drive
to see the filenames of pictures and transfer them selectively and quickly
using ordinary drag and drop. Thank you very much.

Do not use the Easy Share software, just plug it into the USB port and you
should see the pics.

Yes, I can do that, but the camera shows up under "Scanners and Cameras" in
My Computer, and does not respond like a drive. It does not show the file
names of the pictures, and has trouble handling a card with a lot of pictures
on it. It doesn't show the file structure of the card, or enable writing to
it. If I can't get this to work I'll have to remove the card from the camera
and use a reader, but this is unhandy as I have a camera dock and would like
to be able just to set the camera in the dock and use it like drive. Any
more suggestions? Thanks in advance.
