WoW,
finally there looks like there might be a light at the end of
the tunnel. The offical windows vista website [ http://windowsultimate.com ]
has a bit of a news annocment. ok so its not a big update but it is some. go
to the extras link and click on Dream Scene; then you will see the small
update. (the one in italics) I just hope that it isnt too much longer!

It's just a gimmick, and will probably end up being very distracting!

I am very happy that it may be released soon. I hope it will be before Feb 17th. I have family coming in to take a look at Windows Vista 1st hand. This would be a nice added bonus to show off.

Wow! Where does your family live that they have to travel just to see Vista
first hand?

I think the whole Dream Scene thing is a waste. It is just a way to sell
Ultimate and do show off OS capabilities in a non-functional way. It is a
shame that you have to have Ultimate to do something as simple as changing
the color of your task bar.

You can change the color of the task bar?
I have ultimate and all I can do is shade the black color of the bar with a
slight cast of whatever color it is that aero is set on.

NEWS FLASH TO MICROSOFT: DREAM SCENES DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY IN A LOT
OF SYSTEMS (POSTING THIS JAN 26, 2008). It "exits with error" in my
brand-new SONY VAIO laptop. Here's an idea: Rather than working to
develop new "features", how about making sure the software you've
already released actually works?? What a concept!!

NEWSFLASH TO PETECOMP1: Get rid of your incompatible software that is
causing DreamScene to shut down or check the viability of your video adapter.
Here's an idea: Rather than criticizing and chastising Microsoft, how about
learning why your system causes DreamScene to exit. What a concept!!

The biggest cause of computer problems lies between the keyboard and the
chair. If you want help with your problems you should try asking somebody in
the correct manner instead of bashing someone else for what is probably
caused by your own machine.

Dream Scene works on a lot of computers. It is up to the computer OEM to make
sure that their computer works properly with the operating system before
selling it. I would contact Sony.

Microsoft ALWAYS releases software before its time. Just be patient.
Microsoft's answer to your wows will eventually come, with SP2 or SP3.
That's just part of the Windoze experience.

Cheers.
