Downloading Sysinternals

That's right. Thats's the bluescreen.zip file which can't do any harm
unless you follow the installation instructions.

Even then it can't do any harm. It's a screensaver which emulates BSOD
and restarting windows, and BSOD again, and restart... while your
computer still works.

The name "JOKE-Bluescreen.c" means it's something that scared shit out
of stupid and computer illiterate people which then complained to
their AV software representatives, to add this onto list.

It's a screensaver.

Ivan.

They can ask. The only resemblance between Steve and a doormat is
the galaxy they inhabit. He makes Don Quixote look amiable.

I've always found him amiable enough. His take on Mark having
denied him the right to redistribute TCPView yesterday was "I
thanked him, told him I understood completely, and that I wouldn't
worry about it." AFAICT no windmills were harmed.

Using at least one appendage, the entity known in this space-time continuum
It contained all the files previously -- The ZIP contains a TXT
explanation of why the contents aren't included anymore.

There is a batch file in alt.msdos.batch.nt that will download all 150+
files

It's a shame SMG didn't zip up the html that went along with the apps.

I wonder how long it's be before MS or Mark askes him to take down the
file.

It didn't seem to be a 21MB file when I downloaded it. Just contained a
txt with a list of URLs with the files.

I used that list + "bouncing off the command prompt" to prepend wget to
each line, and produce the following.
Put it in a batch file and run it, to download the files.

Via that paragon of efficient-coding known as Micro$oft Windows?

Cmd.exe, here, did not recognize "wget" as a valid command :-(

Bash doesn't either, unless you bother to get wget on your system.

But it will recognize ftp, and ftp takes a text file of commands.

Anyone know another (safe) source for downloading the programs?

I wonder, why nobody seems to use good old FTP:

ftp://download.sysinternals.com/Files

That's direct access to all files, reasonable fast and a download
which absolutely complies with the Sysinternal licenses.

probably because noone found the magic words on the website
and something not mentioned on the site could be anywhere

I tried the usual ftp names but at the time but it didn't allow access
now
ftp://ftp.sysinternals.com/ no go, but
ftp://sysinternals.com/ okay, leading to
ftp://sysinternals.com/Files/
seems to exist at same address as www.sysinternals.com
the file dates are recent, copied to a different server that
responds to the usual magyk invockashuns

I first had a look at the download links on the website; like:

Forgot to mention: Because of the slow response of the Sysinternal
pages I instead used the Google cached versions to check.
