Power Defragmenter 1.82

Hi,

Has anyone used or know of Power Defragmenter 1.82? Here's part of the
author's description:

"Power Defragmenter 1.82 is based on Sysinternals
(http://www.sysinternals.com/ ) defragmentation "engine".
Basically its just a very advanced GUI for the Sysinternals core
application which takes defragmentation process to a whole new level.
Very high defragmentation speed, efficiency and ease of use.
Such high speed is only available with Sysinternals defragmentation
"engine".
Thanks again to Sysinternals Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell."

It seems to be a Win program which runs in a DOS window.

Power Defragmenter is a stand-alone application (extract & use) which
works only in Windows 2000/XP.

Thanks Mel. I am aware of what you stated. I have win 2Kpro, and have
ran Power Defragmenter.

I can find no configs, program controls, a Cancel option, etc, nor
documentation on the app.. Anything like this, with no apparent control,
running in a DOS window, causes me concern.

I'm attempting to get info. I checked the links you kindly gave; there's
not much info.

Looks like no one else on ACF has used it, or at least hasn't yet
commented on Power Defragmenter.

I ran it after reading the thread. It's everything defrag should be,
that XP defrag isn't. I got zero percent fragmentation after running
it! A keeper for me for sure!

I have used Power Defragmenter on an XP Home system (30GB drive) and
XP Pro system (40GB) just last week with no problem. To me its a
keeper. Its fast, and seeing the DOS screen messages gives me comfort
that it is doing just that, defragmenting files.

And its a NO INSTALL program, so all you have to do is put a copy of
the executable on a CD ROM, double click it and it defrag away your
choice of hard disk (if you have multiples).

Hello, cmdrdata!

Just tried this and for me it did no more/no less than the packaged XP Pro
defrag.

Thanks.

ColBlip.

I have made some compromises with Sysinternals regarding their program
distribution policy. This includes removing their programs from my
Power Defragmenter and NTFS Streams Eraser. GUI (Graphic User Interface)
is the same for both programs, you'll just have to download core program
by yourself from Sysinternals website.

Power Defragmenter GUI 2.0

Power Defragmenter is a GUI (Graphic User Interface) application for
program Contig by Sysinternals. Contig is a very powerful efragmentation
application designed for Windows NT/2000/XP operating systems. Please
take a few minutes and check Sysinternals webpage for other cool
programs. Contig created by Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell.

You can download latest standalone Sysinternals Contig application here:
