downloading stuff...?

How do you download stuff?? Everytime i try i get the
usual prompts and stuff and then it goes do you want to
download it in windows, MSDOS, and something else so i
choose windows and the english language and "bam!"... i
get a bunch of coumputer digits on my screen with page
breaks and stuff.??? I don't know what the heck is goin
on!!????
What could be wrong........?

Gosh, lots of stuff could be wrong. You know, things and stuff,
the stuff you do, the stuff you do it with, stuff like that.
Hope this stuff helps. Maybe somebody else can add some stuff,
that's pretty much all the stuff I know.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that "bunch of coumputer digits
on my screen with page breaks and stuff." is a blue screen. There's a
helpful set of articles, starting with "Interpreting Bug Check Codes", at

This will tell you how to read and make sense out of the computer digits and
other information on the blue screen. In fact, depending on your version of
Windows (this group is for Windows 2000), you can even prepare for next

Hmm I have seen what I think you may be describing. this Occurs when you
open a downloaded file (such as a media file) in IE that has nothing
associated to read said file.
