downloading pictures

J

justme

When I try to download a picture from the internet, I
right click on it and then do "save as". Even if the
picture has a different file extension, the only choices I
have are art or bmp. When I download as either of these
two types the picuture will not load, and I get a message
that says it is not a valid gif image. I have tried
several different pictures.

Thanks

I have tried everything that Microsoft suggested to no
avail. Other then the "work around" by changing the file
extension. Then you also have to type the pictures name
in. Now that is some fix guys.LOL Any help FIXING
this "Bill Gates" boo-boo would really be appreciated.

By everything, I assume you emptied your temporary internet files and
the cache...

Search Google in the groups section . advanced, search in
microsoft.public.windowsxp.* for the phrase 'cannot save images' or
'can only save bmp'

There have been many others with this problem, so explore what they
did..

I am having the same problem. I just bought my new
computer and have never had problems savings photos from
the internet before. If you find anything out can you e-
mail me the information to correct this problem? My e-mail
is (e-mail address removed). Thanks in advance and good luck
with your photo problems.
