Downloading Folders from Imap.googlemail.com

When attempting to download my folders from imap.googlemail.com I get the
following message:

Your imap command could not be sent to server due to non-network errors.
This could for example indicate a lack of memory on your system.

What, if anything, can I do?

I really would like to get this Windows Mail working. Thank you.

How much RAM memory and how much free hard drive space do
you have?

Also, problems in Windows Mail caused by interference from antivirus
programs are sometimes falsely reported as being low on memory.
What if any antivirus programs do you have?

Thanks for reply!!!

RAM: 512 MB

Not sure how to find how much free hard drive space?

I have AVG free Anti Virus & update every day. Also AVG Anti Spyware and
Anti Rootkit.

I have just changed my settings as per gmail instructions, ie
Tools>Acounts>imap account. Properties>Advanced
.. Given port numbers, ticked both boxes Secure Connect>Apply.

Outgoing email was sent! BUT ...

Now new message when Downloading Folders:

Imap wishes to alert you the following:

Your account is not enabled for imap. Please visit your gmail settings page
and enable your account for imap access (failure). How do I do this,
PLEASE.

On your desktop, double click on Computer, and it should tell you
how much free disk space you have.

Vista needs more than 512 MB of RAM to run well. Most versions
need 2 GB.

Did you use the standard install for AVG free Anti Virus? If so, it
often helps to uninstall it, then do a custom install where you tell it
to leave out the part that scans email.

Did you used to have a Norton or McAfee antivirus program
installed? If so, you may need to run one of the cleanup programs
for what their uninstalls leave behind.

What ref? All I see is names of previous newsgroup posts, and I'm
not sure they should be clickable even if you're using the newsgroup
server they were posted on.
