downloading files from internet

I was downloading a large file earlier, but had to cancel it. Now when I try
to download the file (enter the URL in IE7), the download/save prompt is
displayed. When I select the option to save, it allows me to designate where
to save. All is well so far. The problem is when I click OK, it looks like
the progress is super fast and it downloads. When I check the file, it's
only 7kb, but the actual file is over 1gig. It's like it thinks the file is
already downloaded in a temp location or that it thinks the part I downloaded
before I cancelled still exists somewhere.
So how do I get to download the entire file?

I would ask someone else to try the download on their machine. The original
file on the web might actually be too small.

You are d/l an html file(shortcut on the website) and not the actual file
itself. Try again.
Instead of entering the url in ie go back to the website and find the d/l
link.
