Double click in right explored pane...

opens a new explorer window with the find (search) rather
than opening the folder. How can I fix this? Probably a
registry hack but where do I look?

How this happened is that I was adding an "Open command
prompt here" right click menu choice. I added it to the
wrong place (explorer > tools > file types tab > FILE
FOLDER > Advanced > new).

It should have been added to the FOLDER section. So I
searched the registry for "Open command prompt here" and
deleted the whole key.
