DOS commands does not recognize on CMD line or windows shell

Hi

I have Win XP with SP3 installed with all the patches, I have had no
problems with DOS commands till last week , everthing worked well. I
installed a kids software on my laptop last week and after that none of the
DOS commands works.

Can any one help me to get this up and running
