accordance with Usenet .sig standards.

configurations...

you could try compacting the sig with a " | " between each spec rather than
place each on a new line. it is polite to only use 4 lines to hold a sig.
mine below is considered 4 lines.

Overly long sigs are considered bad form and make your posts harder to
read through.

It up to you if you wish to change it. Feel free to have a sig 200
lines long if you wish. Several other posters and I won't have to read
through it since you'll simply be killfiled.

It makes sense to include your system specs if you're asking for
assistance but what has that got to do with the Doom 3 release date?

When I'm keying through posts overly long sigs can be highly annoying -
especially for large volume posters.

There is a guy in my k/f who insisted of posting with a ~200 line ascii
art pic. He has the right to do so if he wishes. And I have the right
to killfile him. Would you want to read through that every post?

So use an overly long sig if you wish. Just expect to end up in
killfiles.
