Does this NG discuss the Camera & Scanner Wizard?

I have Windows XP Pro, fully updated. I recently found a driver for an older
scanner. It works on my computer with Microsoft Office Document Imaging and
with some other programs, but whenever I try to use the Camera and Scanner
Wizard, all I get is a message that the computer cannot detect the camera or
scanner. The scanner appears in the Control Panel Cameras and Scanners
application. I searched the knowledge base, but it isn't working correctly.
When I search for exact phrase of text that I know to be in a Knowledge Base
article (264564) on Windows Me, the KB comes up empty. I need an article
that applies to Windows XP, or any help anyone can give me.

Hi, Joel. seems to me that you need to download the Autofix (autoplay repair
wizard)- It appears that you want to use the scanner camera wizard to
recognize your camera when wanting to download pics to your pc. after you
install this fix, try pluggin in your camera to the pc making sure that you
have pics in it , of course. then, you may have to turn the camera on for it
to work.I think that this will repair fix your problem. let us know.

The problem is with a scanner, not a camera. The download you recommend is
for drives, and cameras can be considered drives because they have built-in
storage media. Scanners, however, have no storage, so they aren't drives.
This download, therefore has nothing to do with my problem.

Hi Rojo,
some of the best help for the Camera & Scanner Wizard will come from the
Windows XP performance and maintenance newsgroup. You should post your
question there and I am sure you will get the help you need much easier than
in this photos newsgroup. They are a very helpful and knowledgeable
newsgroup with XP wizard problems.
