Does the MSOffice shortcut bar exist in OfficeXP?

If your version is Office XP Professional, I would say the MS article speaks
for itself.

| I'm trying to locate the shortcut bar, which I think was called
| msoffice.exe. Is that correct?

| Our IT department told me it doesn't exist an more, but this article
| says it just doesn't load by default when using a custom install.

It went away in office 2003. It's an election you make in installing
Office XP when you pick custom.

*IF * your IT group also administers a network with which you operate, "this
or that does not exist anymore", may mean that they have some valid reason
for not making it available. Work with them instead of treating them with
suspicion? Bring them a box of donuts and a copy of the article you posted.
I'd like a donut too please.

If your IT department has Office 2003 then they are correct but if they have
Office XP then they probably don't want to go through the trouble of getting
it onto your computer.

This site tells you how to create your own shortcut bar for Office 2003. It
should work the same for Office XP.

What??? No Office Shortcut Bar for Office 2003???

I am fairly certain the MS Office toolbar was present in OfficeXP. It
disappeared in Office 2003.

That's not the same as saying 'it doesn't exist'

They messed be about to much to do that. They can't even listen or read.

Bring them a box of donuts and a copy of the article you posted.

They're fat enough as it is.

Ok sorry. I understand now ... the people in your IT dept. are illiterate,
fat liars. Are they preparing to run for public office or something? :)

I can't believe this all about the OFFICE ShortCut Bar. Here:

1. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Shortcut Bar is for Office XP

Try:

1. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Shortcut Bar is for Office
2003

If does not exist .. it's not anything fancy. Just do the following

1. Create a folder named Office ShortCut Bar - anyplace will do
2. Collect all the Office executables you want on the bar (e.g., Winword,
Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, FrontPage, .... and paste the object in
the ShortCut bar as shortcuts. Rename them, if you like.
3. Now on the TaskBar, right click on an empty area, and Click on Toolbars,
New Toolbar...
4. Migrate to the folder where your ShortCut Bar is and click on the name
of the ShortCut bar folder.
5. Now right-click on the toolbar that was just created for Office, and
turn on/off Show Text and/or Show Title.

I like to move the whole toolbar to the top of the desktop and create a new
taskbar by releasing the mouse at the top. Then set Auto-Hide, ...

There you have it ... a new Taskbar with Office Shortcut. If you want other
things added, all you have to do is add a shortcut in that ShortCut folder.
I also added the new Desktop Search along side of my Office Bar on the top
of the screen.

Add innumerate & you've got it to a T.

Are they preparing to run for public office or something? :)

As I said before, they're too fat to run anywhere :)
