I was emailed a file from a customer yesterday. I was able to open i
fine with no problems. After I opened it, I saved it as three seperat
files using Save As and everything was fine. I closed all of them an
went home. This morning I opened one of the files that I created an
inputted my info. I then went to do a regular save and an error bo
came up that said Document Not Saved. I tried saving it to both my har
drive and network drive and I got the error both times. I then opene
the original file, and the other two that I created and the same erro
came up with all of them when I tried to save. I finally just copie
all and pasted the informationg to a new document and was able to sav
with no problems. I have never had this error before though so I wa
wondering if anyone has any ideas

I've never seen it. But there are always questions in the newsgroups about ways
of disabling save.

But I would guess that customer wouldn't do anything like that. Most people
want work done (go figure!).

If you saved your "broken" file, you may want to experiment a little.

You could open excel in safe mode
close excel
windows start button|Run
Excel /safe
and file|open that workbook

The try saving.

Sometimes network problems (probably not in this case--since you tried your
local harddrive) and Antivirus software get blamed for interrupting saves.

If you can disable the AV (just temporarily), maybe you could test that, too.
