Do you have to download the patch?

Go to the Windows Update site and check your installation history to see if
it's already been installed.

Tried that, how do i know what its called/ which one it is?

Just look under add/restore in control panel .. the windows update site
has enough to do without you bugging it some more. The patch is called
'Windows XP Hotfix - KB823980'. if you run autoupdate, you probably
installed it 3+ weeks ago.

| The last one in there just says:
|
| 24 July 2003
| Security Update for Microsoft Windows (819696)

An easy way to check is to look in your WINDOWS folder and find KB823980.log.
If the log is there, it's definitely been installed. Just make sure you don't
have a KB823980Uninst.log

Unless you usually delete .log files, looking at logs for KBs and Qs will tell
you what was installed and when — by the date of the log file — and what you may
have uninstalled.
