Do you have to download the patch?

Do i have to physically download and run this patch on this page

or does windows update take care of everything? Im, running xp pro.

Tried that, how do i know what its called/ which one it is?

Just look under add/restore in control panel .. the windows update site
has enough to do without you bugging it some more. The patch is called
'Windows XP Hotfix - KB823980'. if you run autoupdate, you probably
installed it 3+ weeks ago.

An easy way to check is to look in your WINDOWS folder and find KB823980.log.
If the log is there, it's definitely been installed. Just make sure you don't
have a KB823980Uninst.log

Unless you usually delete .log files, looking at logs for KBs and Qs will tell
you what was installed and when — by the date of the log file — and what you may
have uninstalled.
