DNS entries wrong and missing.

I have a W2K3 network with 2 DCs running DNS PRi and Sec with reverse lookup
zones.

Recently we decommissioned our main DC which i will call - SrvA(FSMO).
I transferred FSMO roles to SrvB. SrvC was brought on line and promoted to
DC. SrvC had DNS Pri role transferred to it from SrvA and FSMO roles
transferred to it from SrvB. Then SrvA demoted and DNS removed

Its been about 3 weeks and i just noticed recently that a DNS record was
incorrect. I did an audit and i am finding that some records are wrong and
about 20 clients (out of 100 or so) are not even registered(missing). Also i
found all through the DNS zone sub folders, entries for the decommisioned DC
appearing with the current DCs. I assume they should ahve gone after demotion
was successful. Either way it appears that something is not quite right.

Hello Haggis,

Please post an ipconfig /all from all DC/DNS servers and one of your clients
having problems.

Best regards

When i run registerdns on this PC, it does not appear in the DNS records on
the DNS server. There is a record of its IP on the WINS server.
