I wanted to download the Windows XP Home updates
and save them to a CD.

But there is a bit of a problem...

You can only download the updates as a file if you
are logged in as Administrator.

You can only login as Administrator if you select
"SAFE MODE".

If you login to "SAFE MODE", you cannot run
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wupdmgr.exe

If you cannot run wupdmgr.exe, you cannot download
anything.

Will some kind person please show me a way out
of this maze.
Thanks,
Charles

Does your user account have Admin privileges or Limited? Are you receiving a
"Network policy settings prevent you from using this website to get updates
for your computer" message?
