Display turns off, but doesn't stay off (power setting)

I have my screen saver set to go off in 15 minutes. It works.

I have my power set to turn off the display at 30 minutes. It works.

BUT... Sometime after my display has been off, it will turn itself
back on and I can see the "press alt-ctl-del to login" screen. I'm on
a DOMAIN so I see the Alt-Ctl-Del screen instead of the user screen.

Once the monitor comes back on (after being off) it never shuts down
again. It's as if Vista's power management is all messed up.

This happens with NO applications running - even the sidebar is
disabled. I don't have any wireless or USB devices connected.

So something in Vista is waking up my monitor from its power off state
and then it NEVER goes back to sleep. BUG!

I haven't yet been able to determine at what point (how long) after the
display has been l

Well, your problem is the complete opposite from mine. I have my monitor go
off, it goes off, but never comes back on. I would check your mouse. I had
that problem with my laptop when I had my external mouse hooked up to it.
Especially if it is an optical mouse, they are very sensitive to movement.
Other then that, I really have no idea, and can't tell you why the monitor
won't go back off again after coming on either. I may not be the mouse, but
it is an idea!
