Display page breaks automatically

How can I cause excel files to always view page breaks rather than having to
go through 'Tools', 'Options', 'View' and select 'Page Breaks' under Window
Options every time I open a file?

You could always add the page break icon onto a toolbar then it is only one
click

This suggestion certainly eases the task.
Are you also saying there is no way to add a tag to the start string that
will automatically turn on the view page breaks?
Thanks.

Tools>Options>View>Page Breaks just shows page breaks by dotted lines on the
sheet.

Do you mean "page break preview" which is a different animal and is found on the
menu bar under "View"?

Either one is window-only function.

To have either for each sheet and workbook would require VBA code.

You can store this setting in a Template for NEW books and Sheets but that won't
affect existing sheets and workbooks.

Thank you Gord. I was referring to the dashed line at the bottom and side of
the page, not the break line in the print preview.
I'll use John's short cut from now on.

Probably the easiest method.
