disk read error

Hi. I recently turned on my laptop, which runs Windows XP Home with SP2. When
it entered start-up, I got the message "A disk read error has occured.
Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart." When I do restart, I get the same message. What
should I do?
Thanks.

Machine still under warranty?.............

Make sure that the floppy drive, and CD-Rom drive, does not have a disc in
it.

If the error message still comes out, your hard drive could have died. You
will need to call for support or take it in to a look computer repair center
for additional help.
