I just completed installing XP on a new hard drive. 2 things.
First, during install, when you create partitions on the disk, I create the
C: partition and then there is leftover unpartitioned space. I highlight the
unpartitioned space and hit C, create another partition, and now there are 2
leftover unpartitioned spaces. One roughly the size of the rest of the disk,
the other 8MB. Can't delete the 8MB and can't see where you can combine it
with the other unpartitioned space. So I partitioned the drive with 8MB left
over. Any ideas on what happened?
Second, after install is complete, I go to Disk Management and format the
logical partitions NTFS. When they are done I check the drives using My
Computer > Properties and each drive shows approx. 65MB of used space. I
understand the FAT needs some space, but 65MB?
