I have a 'homebuilt', (Ididn't build) with Windows xp home, that was
given to me. It has a lot of files/programs that are of no value to me.
I have Windows XP pro that was/is installed on another home built, I
would like to install XP pro on this machine that has 'Home". I would
like to do a clean format(dispose of)the files/programs and start fresh
with this second machine.
I have "started and then escaped" the setup process, because I came
to unfamilur 'option'. It reads as follows.
The following list shows the existing partitions and unpartitions
space on this computer. Use the Up and Down Arrows Keys to select an
item on the list.
*To setup Windows XP on the selected item, prese Inter.
*To create a partion in the unpartitioned space, press C
*To delete the selected partition, press D.

and under these options there is a box with this info.
38163MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atipi [MBR]
C: Partition 1 NTFS 38154 MB (24516 MB free)
unpartitioned space 8MB.

I need help with the selection chocies. Which should I select?

1. setup Xp on selected item, press Inter???
2. Create partition in unpartitioned space, C. ??
3.To delete the selected partition, press D. ??

could you send 'info' to (e-mail address removed)

thanks in advance cl.

Select option 1, select partition "C", format it and install Windows on
it. Do a full NTFS format, not the quick format.
