Disk Cleanup won't run DEP blocking progran

Have windows media center(2005) xp pro sp2.
Opening disk cleanup brings up DEP message saying windows has closed this
program. Followed instructions on enableing program after DEP closes it, ran
virus scans, tryed to reconfigure DEP to enable disk cleanup and windows
explorer.
To no effect get same message screen every time.
Can some one help me with this?
