Disk Cleanup Tool Stops Resopnding While Compressing Old Files

Hi, I have tried the Microsoft Knowledge Base
Disk "Cleanup Tool Stops Responding While Compressing Old
Files" that said to delete the register
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\Explorer\VolumeCaches\Compress Old Files
That did not work....XP Home came back up after several
reboots and getting to system restore. Windows XP will
just shut down at random. Any suggestions will help.

I saw that one but theres also a knowlege base that
says,to save after,not delete.Sorry i cant locate the
bulletin,but did the save,and works fine with home.The
process used the same info,just save it,dont delete.
