Disk cleanup only works on main (op system) drive

Disk cleanup will not run on my H: drive at all! And although it "runs" on my
D or E drives, it never seems to find any mb/bytes to compress or any
mb/bytes against the recye bin on either of those drives.

I have seen several "solutions" that suggest getting a fix from Kelly's
Corner to prevent drive compression. But even though disk cleanup only ever
seems to find any files to compress on the main C: drive, I don't want to
stop it from compressing files on that drive as well!

So does any know how I can make disk cleanup work properly on all drives,
apart from the Kelly's corner fix? If not, I suppose defrag compresses the
drives when it runs anyway, so it's not a major problem if disk cleanup
doesn't work properly - it's just annoying!

What is your "H" drive? A local disk attached to your computer, a
network drive, or secondary partition? Do you want to compress files on
the "H" drive? Disk Defragmenter doesn't compress, it just reorganizes
your files so they are easy for the computer to find them and not
scattered across the disk.

There may be a semantic issue here. Defrag consolidates and combines files
together on one part of a disk. Compression encodes data into a small
physical space. I am not aware that defrag also compresses data. If so, I
learned something.

Disk cleanup compresses files. File compression is not the same as disk
compression. I believe the fix from Kelley's Korner prevents file
compression. If the problem is with disk compression, right click the disk,
select properties, click the General tab, and click Advanced . Then uncheck
"Compress contents to save space".
