disc drive not accessible

I can't copy or save anything to my disc drive. It says that it is not
accessible and I need adminostrator permission, even though I am the
adminostrator. I just want to save to a disc--Please help.

try starting xp in safe mode, then at the logon screen is an account called
administrator, use that to make sure your other account is an admin, or just
use that to access what you want to do.

failing that its system restore i would suspect
