Disappearing drive

I have two hard drives in my system, a 46 GB Maxtor as Master, and a 20
GB Western Digital as slave. When cold booting, everything's fine, but a
warm reboot causes the Maxtor to disappear from the BIOS and Windows,
every time. Absolutely repeatable. Cold boot, 2 drives, warm boot, 1
drive. Any ideas?

Soyo K7VIA, 750 Athlon both drives on 1st IDE controller, CDROM and Zip
