Sorry Mark,

I can't give that advice without being 100% sure on what your AGP slot is capable of ... I'm still not 100% sure on which version Gigabyte board you have, but it is an oldie. :(

I really think you need a new, more up-to-date PC, if you are going to play any newer games.

Don't pick a PC with on-board graphics, it just tells me the manufacture is cutting corners drastically. :thumb:

There's a link to it Here but it doesn't give much detail about the AGP port.

If you hover your mouse over the mobo pic it enlarges.

Have a good look through the BIOS and look out for any grpahics settings you may have missed.

And it probably wouldn't hurt to upgrade the BIOS as well, if there's a newer version available.

Crucial system Scanner lists my MoBo as a IMEDIA 1501 Motherboard.

I dunno how to upgrade the BIOS.

And I have looked all through the BIOs many times and there definatley isnt anything about onboard video.

there is for audio and LAN though.

thanks

Also if you go Here and enter your serial number you may be able to positively identify your motherboard and maybe gain more details about the AGP setup.

I also noticed when browsing around that there were apparently several different versions of that motherboard all with the same model number but a different chipset in each one.

Crappard Hell indeed.

If the onboard AGP slot was active, there will be a setting somewhere in the BIOS for setting video cache size.

There should also be a setting for setting the AGP speed, something like 2 x; 4 x or 8 x

If you can't find those then it looks very much like the AGP slot isn't active on that motherboard.

That is possible, if different versions of the board were made, the AGP slot may have been fitted but not the video controller/bus.

I think that's unlikely though, I'm sure there must be a Bios setting somewhere, it may be a sub heading to a heading you haven't looked at.
