I want to power off my computer, however since some applications are
open, i got a "End Program" dialog box says "the system cannot end this
program because it is waiting for a response from you... click End
Now", is there a way i can disable that dialog box.

thanks

Mike,
This is part of windows shutting down -- it's trying to shut down some
programs which shuyt down slower, or doesn't shut down immediatly after you
click the turn off button.
Just click "End Now" and everything will be fine. The program has actually
crashed.
Disabling the box could cause programs, or in the worse case, system
instability.

See if this guide can solve your shutdown problem anf if not the look at the
subheading "OTHER KNOWN ISSUES & HINTS..." section then look at "PROGRAMS
HANG / BECOME UNRESPONSIVE".
