DirectX wont install

I have tried to install directx9.0 from 3 different CD's
and I even downloaded the original directx9.0 from the
microsoft website. When ever I try to install it, an
error keeps poping up saying that this software is not
windows XP logo compatible. How is that possible? Now I
cannot play any of the new games I bought which require
DirectX9.0 such as Halo, MaxPaine2, Need For Speed
underground..... Please help me what do I do?>
note:I already set the setting on the driver tab in the
system folder to ignore the non-compatability with
drivers and continue to install. But it still wont do it
even after reinstall

A while back a gaming magazine suggested disabling the cryptographic service
on Windows XP. Unfortunately, this also results in being unable to install
signed software like new versions of DirectX. Did you disable cryptography
services on your system?

Every answer to a DirectX 9 install problem was the make sure that the
cryptographic service was not disabled. How can 5 dozen questions like this
all have the cryptographic service disabled. An also, a lot of replies
stated that the cryptographic service was not disabled.

The original question post didn't state whether or not Cryptographic
Services was enabled and running. One of the most common causes is that
service has been disabled because, as Neil stated, of a magazine article and
also a couple web sites which recommend disabling it during games to "speed
up Windows XP."

This is the windowsxp.games newsgroup, therefore a major cause of DirectX
problems stands out. Legitimately, DirectX problems should be more properly
directed to the DirectX newsgroup for solution, and not the games newsgroup.

While in an account with Administrative rights (not necessarily THE Admin
account), go into Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services. You'll find
Cryptographic Services in the list. If it isn't running, use the
right-click menu to get it going.

Can anyone help me?

What was the source of the file, Bill? If it came off the Microsoft site,
ignore it and continue to install.

I believe the next most common reason for this behind Cryptographic Services
being turned off is a corrupt Catroot2 folder item. You can try deleting the
contents of \WINDOWS\system32\Catroot2 . If that doesn't help there is a
Catroot folder as well. I have never seen this issue or tested it, so I
can't guarantee the results, but I have heard a few times from other posters
that this is what fixed it for them.

I have tried to change the adminstrative settings in the
chryptographics, but they were enabled all along.
As far as just ignoring the warning and keep installing it
wont work even with the copy I downloaded from microsoft
windows.
I will try the catroot2 and catroot thing when I get
home...
