Director Has stopped Working Error

Slightly OT for here, but maybe some kind soul can help. I have an older
(2000 vintage) software program that requires "Director" to start. This
installed on my Vista 32 Bit Ultimate but the program will not run due to
the Director error.

Now I assume this was Macromedia Director? I can't seem to find a
downloadable up-to-date version of this? Apple QuickTime for Windows
installed, doesn't seem to fix the problem.

Any help appreciated

Locate the program application file > r/click > select 'Properties" > select
'Compatibility" > tick 'Run this program .......' select the appropriate OS.
OK.
Open program & see if it works, if not sorry, no other way.

Thanks, but there is no actual "Director" program to do this. It was part
of the install of the main program. I tried giving compatibility to the
main program, but that didn't do anything. I suspect it is a critical item
that I can't fix. I was just hoping someone else had tried to run an older
program that used "Director" and had a work around
