Did trying to burn Vista x64 destroy anyone's DVD burner?

I know it sounds far fetched.. but my DVD burner is pretty new, and was
working fine until I tried to burn the Win Vista beta2, x64 edition. After
that, even burning simple CD-Rs failed (Nero verifies the burn and says it
doesn't match).

My theory: that Vista x64 ISO is dangerously close to that 4.3GB upper
capacity that DVDRs are supposed to be. Maybe for some burners, this can
cause problems as it's considered overburning.

I know this sounds silly.. but it's the only reason I can think of that my
burner JUST now decided to start burning coasters 100% of the time. It
wasn't happening until I tried to burn this Win Vista x64 ISO.

Anyone else having trouble with their burner after this? I have an NEC
ND-3550A.

If the burner actually failed, I would say it would have gone no matter what
you did.
It just happened during the Vista burn.
If it is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer for
replacement/support.
