Dialup login dialog box pops up with always-on wireless

O

Optiker

I'm running Windows XP Home Ed. 2002, SP2.

Last spring I switched from dialup to always-on wireless. Recently when the
load process seems to have stalled, I am finding a Dialup Login dialog box
has popped up under my browser, and the loading process is on-hold waiting
for the login to be completed. Once I cancel the dialog box, loading
continues.

Is this familiar to anybody? Have I missed a setting change when I switched
from dialup to wireless?

Thanks!
Optiker

Optiker,

Click Start, Run and type INETCPL.CPL
Select the Connections tab
Select "Never dial a connection" radio-button
Click Apply, OK.

If that does not help, click Start, Run and type INETWIZ.EXE
Choose "Connect using my Local Area Network (LAN)" and complete the process

Then, disable the "Remote Access Auto connection manager" service

Right click My Computer icon, choose Manage/Services and
Applications/Services
In the right pane, select Remote Access Auto Connection Manager and double
click
Use the Startup type drop box and choose Disabled

Note: Do not stop the "Remote Access connection manager" service
