Dial-in profile won't load

We are having trouble getting a vendor dialed in to our
server. In the course of troubleshooting the issue we
discovered that all users on the server produce the same
error when trying to access the Dial-in tab under the
properties; "Could not load the Dial-in profile for this
user because: the network path was not found". This even
applies to newly created users!
All of the required services appear to be running
properly. The modem can be queried successfully by the OS.
The vendor even hits the server but cannot be
authenticated.
Anybody got any good ideas?

I do have the same problem, and if there are anybody out
there that knows the reason for this and how to correct
it, please let us know. I do not, however, have trouble
with anybody dialing in, but still I want to know at
least the reason why.

I own Win SBS 2003 with IAS, RRAS, ISA Server configured
and all other major services working such as AD, DNS,
DHCP.

Thank you.

1. Check if Remote Registry Service is running
2. Check if the following registry keys
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurePipeServers\winreg
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurePipeServers\winreg\AllowedPaths
have read permissions for Local Service account.

Hi Sharoon
On what server(s) should I check this,

member server where Ad User & Computer is running??

Thank you

Thank you so much for your posting!!

On my machine the remote registry has been turned off,
and now that it's back to automatic, dial-in page loads
as if nothing ever happened! In fact, it also fixed the
problem of WINS page not loading.

Again, thank you so much for your useful commnent, and I
really am learning that you shouldn't turn on or off
services that you really don't know about.

Where are you facing this problem? You need to check this on the machine
where you are facing this error.
