DHCP not working

I have two computers connected to Comcast Cable through a Linkysys router
(wired). One of the computers has not been able to connected using DHCP and
I have had to set up the IP address etc. to connect. It would not obtain
and address. Today my modem turned off and then came back on and now I am
unable to connect using DHCP on my main computer, which before the modem
went off was running fine. If I connect directly to the computer from
modem it states the ip address is obtained (not exact words) using DHCP.
Does anyone have any ideas. Is this a Comcast issue?

Why would this be working correctly for the past few years and then all of a
sudden today after the modem turned off DHCP won't work on this computer?
Any ideas. I will try the site mentioned to see if I can work through this.
Thanks!

I upgraded the firmware on my Linkysys router and now all seems to be well.
I am able to connect using DHCP on both of the computers now.
On a side note does anyone notice the file "lucom~1.exe" being loaded on
startup. I am wondering what this goes with. It loads and then disappears
from the running programs.

Did a search on Google and discovered the "lucoms~1.exe" is a prefetch file
that is loaded when you have LiveUpdate set to Automatic. Things are looking
up : )
