DHCP Client will not start

I am having trouble connecting my laptop to my Linksys router. My Mac is connected fine; the DHCP server on the router automatically assigned an IP to the Mac. Under Services, when I try to start the DHCP Client, I get the following error message "Could not start the DHCP Client sergice on Local Computer. Error 106: The dependecy service or group failed to start." Any suggestion on how to get this to work.

I have a Toshiba Satellite 2405-S201 and am using the built in LAN connection. Thanks.

under network properties do u have tcp/ip if yes is it
set to obtain ip and dns automatically
