I lied a little, it's not totally black; since my pc is a notebook, if I tilt
the screen differently I am able to see more/ less- but never more than the
sharpest contrasts- I can only make out black letters on white background if
I tip it almost all the way back and hold my head on the side! DESPERATELY
BAD!
SCENARIO:
I'm downloading something from the internet, I get a warning from avast that
a trojan horse has been detected. It asks if I would like to schedule a virus
removal for the next reboot and reboot. I say yes. My computer reboots, but
once it gets past the Windows loading screen, it goes desperately black. I
force it to turn off, start up in safe mode- THE SCREEN DISPLAYS PERFECTLY-
RUN AVAST AND ADAWARE, they find nothing. Reboot. Same problem as before, but
I discover the system is still running fine, I just can't see the bloody
thing! I log in, run system restore- reboots, same problem; log in, run
avast- nothing.
I have turned the bloody thing off, WHAT oh WHAT WIZARDS OF THE BRAINIAC
WORLD can I do?
Disturbed slumber at best,
Lara
