Yesterday when I went on my computer, my desktop was grey. I tried changing
the picture to something else but I can't select ANY of the default pics or
even assaign any of my own pics as the desktop picture. The only thing it
let's me do is change the color. Any suggestions?

G'day Bob,

Can you tell us more about your installation of Windows? Are you on a
network? Is the Network Managed? Are you the Administrator user?

Scan your system to rid of Spyware, malware, and parasites. Remember to
update the defintions before performing a full system scan.

Adaware SE (free)

Spybot - search and destroy (free)
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Trend Micro - Housecall (free)
http://housecall.trendmicro.com

Once free of parasites then edit the registry at the following locations.

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop]
and/or
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop]
In the right-hand pane, delete "NoChangingWallPaper" or change the value
to 0.

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
and/or
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
In the right-hand pane, delete "Wallpaper" and "WallpaperStyle".

Download this file and save to desktop and then double-click to import into
the registry. You can view the file by right-clicking the file and select
edit. Post back if this does not solve your problem.
