Desktop Manager Powertoy

After installation of the powertoy I started a registry cleaning
program. Now the desktop images I have selected are not more saved,
no image is displayed.
Also "don't show title" is not saved.

Deinstallation and new installation, in old or new folder,
does not help.
After deinstallation there must still be saved some settings,
because new installation has for example saved old shurtcuts.

Thanks for help.

Don't use such tools in general.

Apply your registry cleaning program's Undo option or use the
System Restore tool.

Unless you know what you are doing, registry cleaners, as you have
experienced here, cause more problems than they help. Avoid them.

I'm using regcleaners for many years and they have deleted
thousands of unneccesary data. The powertoy has 2 problems:
- permanently necessary data is stored in temp folder
- deinstallation routine is trash. Program is not able to realize
a correct new installation. Not clean deleted reginformation
avoids that.

They are unnecessary in XP, benign in some conditions, harmful in others.

I don't share your opinion, I think it's not true.

Fair enough, though it's your post that states a problem after running a
registry cleaner.
