Hi,

I am sorry, I screwed up. Help.

At the bottom of my desktop is a start button bar. Right
beside the "start" button, there used to be a button
called 'desktop'.
This button allowed me to clear my desktop very quickly so
one click and it will minimize everything opened and I can
see what's under my word or excel worksheets.

I don't know how but I delete it.

How can I bring that desktop button back?

Thanks

Eddie

Create a file named "Show Desktop.scf" in
\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Quick Launch
paste this text in the file and save it.

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Right click on the Start Toolbar anywhere it is blank. From the pop-up
menu select Toolbars, then select Quick Launch. The Show Desktop icon
is by default on that Toolbar.

Hi,

Thank you John, Dave and the Spirit,
Too bad the scf file in Quick Launch was gone and I was
not able to simply click it back to file.

but Mr. Patrick's program worked.

I still have no idea what I have done but I just followed
his instructions and wooolaaa, my quick launch icon came
back.

And thanks to all of you, it's the first time I visited a
file 6 levels deep in \documents and settings...

It was a great learning experience.

I have saved a hard copy for future reference.

Again, thank you and have a great Christmas and Happy New
Year.
