Desktop background

The background will not change going through the normal steps. No matter what
color or selected background I choose, the preview comes up in the monitor
but will not apply. If I choose a color, the only thing that changes is the
shadow under desktop icon.

Hi,your desktop items are locked.To unlock follow this:
1.Right click on your desktop.
2.Click properties.
3.Click the desktop tab.
4.Click customize desktop.
5.Click Web tab.
6.Untick "Lock Desktop Items" Click apply,then ok.
7.Make any changes to your desktop that you want.
Then go back in and lock desktop items.
