Deploy a VB.NET Smart Device Application

P

Paul Marrero

Ok. I've looked through all the Microsoft articles. I've read newsgroups.
I've tried EZSetup. I've downloaded the deployment sample and still, there
isn't sufficient documentation. I must be stupid or something because I
cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to create a MSI for my PowerPC
application. Any simple ideas? I'm almost willing to pay $500 for an install
program if it's easy enough.

Thanks. Getting Gray.

Paul,

It seems obviously like a possibility with the $500 for that. An alternative
idea could be to purchase the book from MS Press on the Compact .NET
Framework. Unless you're just sparkingly fluent in anything else than
deployment, in which you're not fluent at all, according to what I
understand, you may probably find yourself becoming acquainted with many,
many things in addition, which will be saving you countless hourse, but it's
going to cost you: $41.99 from Amazon.com. I may imagine, that for the
moment particularly chapter 6 may be in your interest: "Completing and
Distributing Your Application".

Does my approach seem reasonable to you?

Hi Paul,

If you really want to spend some money in going for an installation program,
I suggest you try out the
e-PocketSetup installer specially for Pocket PCs..
This also supports installation on Palm as well as windows desktop.

Have a look a t www.e-pocketsetup.com
