Was running XP Home. Purchased an XP Pro upgrade. Everything went fine but on
completion of upgrade received message The instruction 0x7726381c referenced
memory at 0x00000000. Clicked OK and now cannot validate windows nor access
microsoft websites using IE7 as message "the requested lookup key cannot be
found in any active activation context." is displayed. When trying to
contact microsoft help support message is receives an application error in
MSOOBE.EXE. Help support indicates that the software is not genuine but both
the
original XP home and the new XP Pro upgrade are totally legit. Can anybody
please help?

Have found the answer to the query. IE7 was loaded on the Dell under XP Home.
The upgrade to XP Pro brought back IE6. THis caused the inability to either
go on the web or activate windows. Therefore had to uninstall IE7

Click Start, click Run, type %windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe
