NEW YORK-Dell is about to take the wraps off of its first
AMD-processor-based desktops.

The PC maker will begin taking orders for its new Dimension e521 and
c521 desktops, which will offer AMD's Sempron, Athlon 64 and dual-core
Athlon 64 X2 chips, on Sept. 13.

Too little, too late... A year ago this news would've doubled AMD
share price. Today it barely moved.

Yeah, but these days it brings Dell's stock price up. :)

With the SEC investigation into Dell's accounting (posted elsewhere), it
looks like Dell is going to have to restate its earnings from 2002 onwards.

Yeah, well, I know I've seen that article before too, can't find whether
I posted it myself or not. I'm searching through AISA right now, and I
can't find it posted in that newsgroup either. Oh well, Charlie said
Optiplexes by November 6th. Well these are Dimensions, so there may yet
be Optiplexes by Nov 6th. Those are business desktops so they would
probably be announced separately from their consumer desktops.
