deleting write protected files

Locate the file via My Computer, rightclick on it, select Properties, then
uncheck the Read Only Attribute

Normally if in My Computer or Explorer, you just select it and hit
Delete (or shift Delete to bypass the bin) you will get a query 'Are you
sure you want to delete the read only file' and take Yes
